SFWA_LOGO2-w.GIFLivermore’s Poppy Ridge Golf Course has been set as the site of the Sweet and Fortified Wine Association “Savor the Flavor II” national tasting. The second annual tasting of domestic sweet and fortified wines is scheduled for Saturday March 21, 2009.

Livermore is one of the country’s most rapidly developing premium wine destinations and Poppy Ridge is a magnificent venue for our event,” said SFWA Executive Director Ken Young.

Savor the Flavor II is expanding to an all day program in 2009. A morning seminar on current sweet wine issues will begin at 9:30 a.m. with an afternoon session on current issues affecting fortified wines. A special luncheon highlighting mid-day dishes paired with sweet and fortified wines is included in the seminar program.

The Savor the Flavor II national tasting of domestic sweet and fortified wines will begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m. According to SFWA President Peter Prager, “we anticipate a substantial number of domestic sweet and fortified wine producers from throughout California as well as other states across the country to participate in the tasting.”

All Savor the Flavor II events are is open to the public. To purchase Savor the Flavor II tasting tickets or obtain further information on Savor the Flavor II participation and events, visit the SFWA website at www.sweetandfortifiedwine.org or contact SFWA at sweetandfortified@sbcglobal.net.
