Shannon Donnell Named Grower Relations Representative/Luxury Brands
Shannon Donnell has been named to the new position of Grower Relations Representative/Luxury Brands for Brown-Forman, focusing on ultra-premium brands Sanctuary, Sonoma-Cutrer and Fetzer Coro Mendocino.
Grape Quality/Sourcing Will be the Focus Of Shannon’s New Position, Serving Sonoma-Cutrer, Sanctuary, Fetzer Coro Mendocino
Donnell, who most recently served as viticulturist at Duckhorn Winery in St. Helena, will ensure the highest possible grape quality from winegrowers serving Brown-Forman's luxury brands, and, according to Robert LaVine, who oversees Grower Relations at B-F, she will "drive the search for additional vineyards, support future supply needs planning and represent Brown-Forman in the winegrowing community in Sonoma County, where she will be based."
At Duckhorn she oversaw all aspects of estate farming, and developed and implemented the farming protocols for more than 180 acres of Napa Valley grapes, in addition to scheduling labor and developing budgets for these ranches. Earlier, she worked as a pest control advisor at Jack Neal and Son Vineyard Management, as well as at Crop Care Associates, becoming involved with vineyards in both Sonoma and Napa.
Shannon is a graduate of the University of California at Davis, studying both viticulture and genetics at undergraduate and graduate levels. She worked with Dr. Andrew Walker at Davis studying the resistance of grapevines to Pierce's Disease, as well as on various grapevine genetic research projects.

Sonoma-Cutrer is well-known for its Chardonnay and Pinot Noir crafted from the Sonoma Coast. Fetzer Coro Mendocino is part of the Coro consortium of wineries featuring heritage blends demonstrating the authentic nature and potential of Mendocino County. Sanctuary is a new wine brand focusing on single vineyard selections by notable winemaker Dennis Martin, and currently featuring a Bien Nacido Pinot Noir from the Santa Maria Valley, a Usibelli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford in Napa, and a Mariah Vineyard zinfandel from Mendocino's Mendocino Ridge appellation.
