ZinFest Artist to Sign Posters and More

ZinFest08Lodi200-w.jpgCelebrated ZinFest artist Vince McIndoe will once again be on site to sign commemorative posters and Commemorative ZinFest Wine.

Who is the beautiful red-haired woman in the seductive blue dress? Who is the artist that painted the striking 2008 commemorative ZinFest Poster? The artist is Canadian Vince McIndoe, and the woman is a French-Canadian whose father is rumored to be the mayor of Bordeaux.

To celebrate this year’s ZinFest, the event committee decided to commission a commemorative poster capturing the spirit of Lodi’s premier wine event. With the assistance of local design firm Six West Design, the committee reviewed the works of dozens of artists, but were particularly taken by the bold colorful artwork of Vince McIndoe.

TODAY IS LAST DAY TO BUY TICKETS ONLINE!

Vince’s style captures the beauty of commercial posters that lined the streets of Paris in the early 20th century, and celebrates his true love of the “Belle Epoque” or “Beautiful Era” that has guided his artwork. Vince’s paintings have graced many restaurants, international magazine covers, and posters alike.

Vince will be joining us at this year’s festival, and will be on-hand from 1:00 - 5:00pm to sign commemorative (18X 24 inch) posters that will be for sale at the festival. If you are unable to attend the festival posters are also for sale at the Lodi Wine & Visitor Center and www.zinfest.com.

ZinFest Signature Wine

ZinFest08btl-w.jpgTo celebrate the 4th annual ZinFest, St. Amant Winery was asked to craft a distinctive one-of-a-kind Old Vine Zinfandel. Winemaker, Stuart Spencer blended a delicious Zin from the century-old Marian’s Vineyard farmed by Jerry and Bruce Fry of Mohr-Fry Ranches. In 2003, this wine shared the honor of “Best Zinfandel” at the California State Fair. This year’s commemorative Zin is one of the first Lodi wines to bear the “Lodi Rules for Sustainable Winegrowing” certification seal.

The 2006 St.Amant “ZinFest” Old Vine Zinfandel proudly displays the 2008 commemorative artwork painted by Canadian artist Vince McIndoe. Each bottle of this one-of-a-kind wine is numbered from 1 to 600, and will be for sale at this year’s festival and at the Lodi Wine & Visitor Center for $35 while supplies last.

The ZinFest committee will be commissioning a local vintner to craft a ZinFest “signature” wine in the coming years. This collection of Old Vine Zinfandels bearing the year’s commemorative artwork is designed to celebrate Lodi’s signature wine – Old Vine Zinfandel.
