ASEV Offers Rare, Comprehensive Insight into Evolution of Phenolics at One-Day Symposium & ASEV Honors Vernon Singleton's Work
Bringing together eight of the world's pre-eminent experts on phenolics, the ASEV will honor the pioneering work of Dr. Vernon Singleton at a full-day phenolics symposium on Friday, February 1. Slated the day after the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium, the ASEV's Phenolics Symposium will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento and followed by a reception and banquet.
"Dr. Singleton's work has been of tremendous importance as a catalyst to the current research in phenolic compounds and wine aging," said Dr. John Thorngate, symposium chair. "He has paved the way for a greater understanding of the issue of phenolics in wine and plants."
Each of the eight internationally known speakers will discuss their latest research in the field of phenolics -- work that has been grounded on Singleton's initial research. Speakers include:
Dr. Douglas O. Adams, University of California, Davis
Dr. Roger Boulton, University of California, Davis
Dr. Veronique Cheynier of French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA)
Dr. Johannes J.L. Cilliers, PTC Nestle, Ohio
Dr. James Harbertson, Washington State University, Prosser
Dr. James Kennedy, Oregon State University, Corvallis
Dr. Ann Noble, University of California, Davis
Dr. Andrew L. Waterhouse, University of California, Davis
