More Space Coming to 2008 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium

UW&GSlogo200-w.jpgAt the 2008 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium, attendees will notice something different -- more trade show space.

Bursting at the seams perhaps best describes the last six years of the Unified Symposium as it has grown to fill the Sacramento Convention Center and spill out into the surrounding hotels. Yet for 2008, the organizers have found space for 33 more standard booths.

We have been looking for ways to make more room for the many small businesses that make up a large sector of those servicing the wine and grape industry,” said Karen Ross, president of the California Association of Winegrape Growers, which co-hosts the Unified Symposium with the American Society for Enology and Viticulture. “Adding more space for exhibitors has been a big priority for us for several years, and this year it is finally happening.”

In the midst of nurturing and harvesting this year’s winegrape crop, a group of 30 industry leaders are also hard at work putting together the program for the 2008 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium. “We still have a long way to go,” said Program Development Committee Chairman Bob Steinhauer. “As the process of locking in program details and confirming speakers progresses, topics and abbreviated program descriptions will be posted and routinely updated at www.unifiedsymposium.org. Registration information will be available the last part of October.

Built with the joint input of growers, vintners and allied industry members, the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium provides wine and grape industry professionals with direct access to the latest information they need to remain competitive. Jointly organized by the American Society for Enology and Viticulture and the California Association of Winegrape Growers, the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium represents the collective experience, knowledge and background of the entire industry. The Unified Symposium also hosts the industry’s largest trade show of its kind in North America, with nearly 500 vendors displaying their products and services.

The 2008 Unified Wine and Grape Symposium will be held at the Sacramento Convention Center, January 29-31. For additional information visit www.unifiedsymposium.org. For exhibitor information call 530-753-3142.
