The thirteenth annual Grape and Gourmet is scheduled for July 12, 2007 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Cal Expo Buildings A and B. Advanced tickets for the event may be purchased online until noon on July 12th or by calling the Cal Expo Box Office at (916) 263-3049. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Discounted group rates are available for parties of 10 or more.
Since 1855, the California State Fair has taken pride in honoring California’s top wine selections and wineries, making the California State Wine Competition the oldest and most Prestigious Wine Competition in North America. The competition is limited to California bonded wineries selling retail.
This is California’s premier wine and food event and the largest tasting of the golden state’s award winning wines under one roof. Be first to taste more than 600 of California’s best wines from the 2007 California State Fair Wine Competition. Every wine is a medal winner. Over 200 of California’s most important wineries will be represented along with Sacramento region’s top 90 award winning restaurants. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program.
After the completion of the wine competition, winners are announced at the annual California Grape and Gourmet, a charity event produced by the California State Fair to benefit the Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Fund. This exquisite wine and food tasting event features more than 600 award winning wines and delicious food from nearly 90 of Northern California’s best restaurants.
In addition to a wide variety of impressive wine and foods, guests receive a commemorative wine glass and have the option to purchase several of the award winning wines. Live musical entertainment, an assortment of exceptional cheeses and award winning micro brews (Commercial Cheese and Commercial Craftbrew Competition winners) will also featured.
