Cruzan Rum Issues New Black Cherry Flavor

CRUZAN_BCR-w.jpgThe Absolut Spirits Co. has added a ninth flavor to its Cruzan rum portfolio, unveiling Cruzan Black Cherry in May. The cherry-flavored rum, which also has notes of almonds, flowers and berries, is the first new Cruzan flavor offering in three years.

Produced at the Cruzan distillery in St. Croix, Black Cherry is designed to enhance and add flavor to cocktails like the Mojito and the Rum Punch. “After taking one bite of a black cherry, we instantly knew it would be the perfect addition to the Cruzan rum family,” says Cruzan brand director Peter Wijk. “Cruzan Black Cherry brings a touch of the tropics to a wide range of fruity concoctions that can be enjoyed all year long.”

Like its portfoliomates Raspberry, Mango, Coconut, Vanilla, Pineapple, Banana, Orange and Citrus, the 27.5-percent alcohol-by-volume Cruzan Black Cherry is available in an array of bottle sizes, ranging from 50-ml. to 1.75-L. A 750-ml. bottle retails for $11.99. Along with the flavors, Cruzan also produces an Estate line that includes a single barrel rum, a light rum and a dark rum. Additionally, the brand is sponsoring country music star Kenny Chesney’s summer concert tour this year, as it has for the past three years.
