California Winery Makes Love Potion!

A California winery is has created a new love potion from the fruits of the vine! Madera Vineyards has created dessert wine called "Deviation."

The secret ingredient is the domiana herb. It smells like sweet oregano, and was used in ancient Mexico as a fertility treatment. Add rose geranium for taste - and the result is a wine being advertised as the perfect beverage for your romantic recipe.

The vineyard has already sold all of the 400 cases it made for its test run - with each bottle going for $25.*

THANK YOU MASS MEDIA: SIMPLY SENSATIONALLY...
Please read on for a more journalistically responsible “whole story” type report:

QUADY-LOGO-w.jpgDeviation –We thought it would be fun to make a "love potion"/dessert wine, so we infused Damiana and Scented Geranium into our Essensia Orange Muscat dessert wine. Damiana is a plant that has a very pleasant herbal character which is reputed to have aphrodisiac properties. Scented Geranium is said to be used in witchcraft where practitioners supposedly employ its hauntingly seductive aroma in "love potions". This combination takes dessert wines to an entirely new dimension.

What we have here is a tasty new kind of aromatized dessert wine. The aromatics of the Scented Geranium meld gracefully with the Orange Muscat, and the herbal minty taste of Damiana is a nice adjunct to the orange apricot tea Essensia flavors. Aromas of honeysuckle and white peppercorn are layered on an ethereal perfume of exotic flowers. Lively and fresh on the tongue this is a wine to linger over on those evenings when the lights are low and imaginations soar and dance

Based on the alluring Essensia Orange Muscat wine, Deviation brings together Damiana and fresh Scented Geranium. This combination takes dessert wines to an entirely new dimension. Aromas of honeysuckle and white peppercorn are layered on an ethereal perfume of exotic flowers. Lively and fresh on the tongue this is a wine to linger over those evenings when the lights are low and imaginations soar and dance.

Just for the record, Deviation is not really a love potion and even if it were, we would not be allowed to advertise it as such. Nevertheless, the recommendation is to drink Deviation when you are in a romantic mood with someone you love.
